Recently I moved homes. Now I have moved blogs as well. So why the move from WordPress to Blogspot? One very simple reason.

MONEY.

Blogspot (or Blogger) can get me money through Google Adsense where as WordPress cannot. Money is good and I can always put it to good use so HELLO BLOGSPOT.

Operation Flaming Excalibur

If you stare at a picture long enough, does it affect your thoughts?

If you stare at a sentence long enough, does that affect your thoughts?

I have been staring at the Flaming Excalibur every day for quite a while now and in the past 2 months a great many things have happened.

27th Aug
I Resigned from my job. prompted by news that it is time to go further, to do better, to be better. It was not all my own thoughts though as I also had support from family. This was the start of Operation Flaming Excalibur. This Operation involved my moving to a new place and so began the massive clean up campaign. Everything to be sold was put for sale and everything to be shipped to my new home was prepared. Even my car was put up for sale.

10th Sept
I put my home up for sale.

18th Sept
There was a buyer for my home and the contract was signed.

5th Oct
My car was sold. Luckily I was still allowed to use it until I left home.

7th Oct
All the furniture had been sold and removed from my home and everything had been packed up and shipped to my new home.

9th Oct
This day I leave my home to the new owner and I head off to live with family until the big move to my new home.

13th Oct
I leave for my new home, to arrive on 14th Oct.

19th Oct
I have been in my new home for a few days now but today marks the day that everything is ready for the new life. The internet connection is working, the desk is in place and so this marks the end of Operation Flaming Excalibur.

For those that are interested, this is the Flaming Excalibur that I have been staring at every day.

Harddisks Are Very Shiny.

I was cleaning some junk when I found an old Quantum Fireball 40Gb harddisk. Since it died I always wanted to open it and look inside. Finally I got around to it.

It took a while but I finally pried opened all the seals, but I still could not get the plate off. There was one part near the head controller area where there was a screw with a star head that connected the plate to the main unit. I did not have a star head screw driver and I could not break whatever it was that held the plate to the main unit. So all I could do was swivel the plate.

Roaring Sound

Today I took my parents to pick up their new car. The car sales man was showing them all the new features of the car and I was listening. While listening I heard a roaring sound and looked up. Driving past was a Ferrari 355. In games and in real life every Ferrari I have heard have been loud. Loud but sweet.

Meeting a 360 Owner. I Ain’t Talking XBox Either.

There is a Ferrari 360 that drives up the road quite often. The Ferrari owner lives just opposite from me. Being a Ferrari fan, evertime I hear the engine start, I would go to the window and look out to see it drive past in all its Ferrari glory.

Tonight was a very fortunate night for me. I went with a couple of friends to a local restaurant to have a coffee and a snack. A man that looked familiar to me walked passed. It was the Ferrari 360 owner! I was over joyed as we greeted, shook hands and was chatting about his 360. He was also the owner of that restaurant!

It was only a short chat but it was still great. All this time I have been seeing this 360 drive past, and today I met the driver himself.

The one thing which I should have done was to take a photo with him. I had my camera and eveything but it just never occurred to me.

Anyway, all is good and we shall meet again.

I was very fortunate to pass by a die-cast model shop while holidaying in Bangkok. Lady luck was also assisting as I saw they displayed Ferraris in the window. Then good fortune shone a bright light on the 512TR when I walked into the shop.

It was a Kyosho 1:18 scale model, apparently just released. Without a thought I bought one.

Back at home, introductions were in order.

Precision Parking 3

Found this one in Bangkok, Thailand.

In Bangkok you would expect drivers to be much better at parking given that most of the parking spaces are very small. The other helpful part is some car parks have security guards to help you park. So maybe this kind of parking is not rare. Having said that, in the huge rows of parked cars I’ve walked past, this was the only one that was very impressive!

And no, it is not touching!

Tea Or Coffee. Maybe Coke As Well.

I have been informed that heavy drinkers of tea or coffee are resistant to Parkinson’s Disease. More prevention than helping existing sufferers.

Apparently it is something to do with caffeine. I wonder if Coca-Cola helps. In any case I better only take in moderation. Too much is also not good for health.

Need more research.
